50% Off Crepes-a-Go-Go

Deal Locations
  • 701 7th Street NW, Washington, DC 20001
  • 514 Main Street, Gaithersburg, MD 20878
  • 2122 P Street NW, Washington, DC 20037
Crepes-a-Go-Go
$40 to Spend on Food and Drink
$ 20 buy now

Since Frenchman Charles L’Enfant looked to the city of Paris to design DC's streets, it’s only appropriate that today’s deal comes straight from the streets of Paris to the District. Grab your beret and head to any of Crepes-a-Go-Go’s three area locations to nibble on $40 worth of food and drink for half off. The Parisian-born company offers more than 70 varieties of sweet and savory combinations -- such as Nutella, banana, and strawberry; or sautéed spinach with caramelized onions, sundried tomatoes, and feta -- and also lets diners mix and match ingredients to build their own. Wash your crepe down with a café au lait, and you may just find yourself turning your nose up at French fries.

50% Off Tangysweet

Deal Location
675 E Street NW
Washington, DC 20004
Tangysweet
$50 Gift Card
$ 25 buy now

With giant, color-changing LED lights that double as tables, Tangysweet is the closest you’ll get to being inside of an iPod. But while the décor is ultra modern, Tangysweet’s namesake frozen yogurt is DC’s nouveau comfort food. Spend $25 for a $50 gift card (daily yogurt fix, anyone?) for frozen treats at this DC favorite, owned by former Hill aide Aaron Gordon. The concept is simple: pomegranate, green tea, and “classic” flavor softserve meets fresh fruit toppings like raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Throw in a handful of granola and you’ve got a Tangysweet sundae. Or ask for it blended for a textured smoothie, just the thing to cool you down for our hot weather ahead. Sweet, indeed.

Welcome to Wonderland! Dive down DC's own rabbit hole with today's deal: $25 for afternoon tea and a treasure hunt for two at The Mansion on O Street -- a solid 64% off the normal price. Held every Sunday from 2:30-4 p.m., you'll start with English tea -- think: a nice Darjeeling, pastries, scones, plenty of clotted cream, and a room full of desserts. Then you'll start the treasure hunt: Navigate the Mansion's 100 rooms and 32 secret doors, looking for items on your list along the way. Did you like that inlaid mother-of-pearl armoire you spotted in the John Lennon suite? Almost everything on the hunt is for sale. A luxury hotel, museum, club, conference center, and treasure-hunt repository, we're not sure exactly how to define The Mansion on O Street -- but we love what we see. 56% Off Russia House

Deal Location
1800 Connecticut Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20009
Russia House
$45 to Spend on Food and Drink
$ 20 buy now

Something about this spring weather has us craving Red-Square fare. (Ovechkin, maybe?) Today's deal: $45 to spend on food and drink at The Russia House for just $20. This 56%-off deal gets you access to the restaurant's famous caviar and vodka collection, but we plan to skip the roe and booze and head straight for the food. On our tables? Pierogis, duck rillette, a big bowl of Borscht (of course!), and the Zapechionaya Baranina -- roasted rack of lamb served with black bread pudding, braised chard, and a red-pepper-and-rosemary shallot sauce. Once we're as stuffed as fully-nested Matryoshka dolls, we'll hop a flight from St. Petersburg to Munich for a stein of beer and a sausage or two at DC's first outdoor biergarten-- the brainchild of Russia House owners, Aaron McGovern and Arturas Vorobjovas -- which opens in late April 2010.
